Ashlar Writers Jazz Ensemble

Often the Memoir Writing workshops end with a performance of those writers who feel ready to share their work. I’ve developed a specific format of resonance and dissonance that I teach at the end of every workshop that allows performances to unfold spontaneously arising from the exercises done during the workshop.

These performances have proven to be very powerful for participants and audience alike. Reviews have included responses like: "Wow, never thought an amateur performance could be this good." and have produced other workshops as people want to “get in on the act” once they get the experience of what that “act” is. Performances have been on radio and in small theater settings.

It’s fun. It’s good and it’s available to workshop participants.
